The Met Gala

The Met Gala is an event held annually on the first Monday of May each year, which is a charity benefit held by Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour to fundraise for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in east of Manhattan, NewYork city.

So Who will host the Met Gala 2023?

On January 18, Vogue announced that the hosts would be Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour as the night’s co-chairs.
The Met Gala is an event most normal people can only dream to attend for real, accessible only to the most elite of the elite (or at least, those noticed and selected by Anna Wintour) the best of the best. A big reason for why so many regular people idolise this event is the boundless opportunity for any kind of art and expression through costumes.

The team at Vogue makes a list of just about everyone that’s hot or trend at the moment, including musicians , actors and actresses and models . Then, they suggest to the various fashion houses attending to invite them as their guests! Yes that’s how its done. But before we get to the dresses let’s talk about the Fee!

So How Much It Costs to Attend? If you’re lucky enough to score an invitation ,a solo ticket costs $50,000, while a table is yours for $300,000. Fortunately, not everyone has to pay to attend, as Wintour is known to invite up-and-coming designers to the gala.

The only way to attend the Met Gala for free is to be chosen by a designer who has a table and whose work will be featured at the event .so here’s the part when you see celebrities with beautiful designer dresses on the spotlight.
It’s up to Anna Wintour. The Vogue editor does not only approves every single person on the guest list, but she also picks the seating charts and everyone’s outfits. Yes even the outfits.
Most of the times, the expensive outfits that are loaned to the celebrities are given back to the designers, as the clothes do not fetch anything more beyond the event due to the theme each year. Many celebrity stylists who have worked with several stars have mentioned that there is a budget limit which is set while making the designer outfit.
Each year has a theme ,this year Met announced that the theme of the gala would be “in honour of Karl” .
Each celebrity will wear a special costume to represent Karl Lagerdfeld and giving an honor to him and his beautiful soul.
